Tallahassee Pothole Repair and Base Stabilization Since 1998.

Asphalt Restoration & Structural Repair

For 28 years, we have specialized exclusively in the lifecycle management of existing pavement. While paving companies focus on the 'new,' we focus on the 'now': preserving your surface, correcting structural failures, and engineering necessary features. We don't do new paving. We do everything else required to save your existing lot, to keep you from the massive expense of a full replacement before its time.

Our goal is simple: maximize the life of your pavement with safe, reliable function.

Permanent Solutions. No Temporary Patching.

Full-Depth Repairs: We don't "throw and go". We remove the failed asphalt to reach the base material, excavating the edges of the repair area so that a full thickness of asphalt is achieved.
Tack Coat Bonding: We utilize professional-grade liquid asphalt tack to "weld" the new hot-mix to the old, creating a watertight seal that prevents North Florida's heavy rains from undermining the repair.
Compaction Excellence: We use industrial vibratory equipment to eliminate air voids, preventing future settling and "birdbaths", and ensuring that the new asphalt blends smoothly with the surrounding pavement.
High-Performance Hot Mix: We utilize local, premium Spec-9.5mm hot-mix asphalt for a durable, seamless finish that stands up to heavy North Florida traffic and heat.
Base & Drainage Correction: If water is pooling or the ground is soft, that pavement will eventually fail. We correct the base material and install storm water berms or drainage solutions to redirect the root cause of the damage.
Traffic Control Elements: We install and repair speed bumps and traffic-calming measures to engineered specifications, ensuring safety and compliance across your entire facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Spec-9.5mm hot-mix asphalt, and why is it important?
It is a fine-graded hot-mix asphalt (HMA) with aggregates not exceeding 9.5mm in size (3/8"), designed to create a dense, "closed" surface that seals your repair against water intrusion. While larger 12.5mm mixes offer superb structural strength for deep base layers, we refuse to use them for surface finishes just because they are the only grade available that day at the asphalt plant. We insist on 9.5mm for every top-layer repair to ensure a smooth, watertight finish that actually seals our repairs against Tallahassee rains.
What is the difference between a "patch" and a structural asphalt repair?
A "patch" is often a surface-level fix, like a hot-mix plug, that treats the symptom but not the cause. A structural repair is excavating the failed material all the way down to identify why the pavement collapsed. In our local geological substrate, especially in North Tallahassee, we often encounter "pipe clay," a high-plasticity clay that undergoes extreme shrinkage and expansion with our Florida rain cycles. Other causes of failure can be inferior or poorly compacted fill material during construction, or root debris that wasn't properly removed during the land clearing phase. The solution is to remove the compromised soil, stabilize the base with clean limestone or crushed concrete (RCA) that is compacted in lifts, creating a permanent foundation that can actually handle the Tallahassee terrain, giving new asphalt the support needed for heavy traffic.
Can a single pothole lead to a total parking lot failure?
In short: No. While some may use "cataclysmic" language as a scare tactic, a single pothole is not the death sentence of an entire facility. However, it is a localized failure that, if left unaddressed, will certainly expand. In our North Florida climate, a pothole acts as a funnel, allowing water to bypass your asphalt and saturate the base. This weakens the surrounding area, turning a small, inexpensive repair into a much larger structural project over time. The Bottom Line: Don't be swayed by emotional exaggerations of "total failure" from "a" pothole. Just understand that the cost of a surgical repair today is far less than the cost of restructuring a larger area next year. We believe in offering sensible proactive maintenance to our customers, not sensational sales tactics.
How do you fix drainage issues in a parking lot?
Water intrusion is the #1 enemy of pavement. The more water that gets in, the less it will hold together, losing its integrity to support traffic in that area. We utilize asphalt berms and precise grading to redirect storm water toward proper drainage outlets, preventing base saturation and "alligator" cracking.
When is the best time to repair asphalt in Tallahassee?
Asphalt repair can be done year-round in Tallahassee, but dry conditions are critical. We monitor local weather forecasts to ensure every repair is performed on a dry substrate for maximum adhesion.
